I produced this animation in conjunction with the publication of Shawn Wen’s book-length essay A Twenty Minute Silence Followed by Applause about the iconic mime, Marcel Marceau. Shapes shift in and out of recognizability – a plane becomes a graveyard that becomes a mask – citing Marceau’s uncanny ability to assume various forms. This film was screened at N+1 in Brooklyn and at the Krause Essay Prize ceremony at the University of Iowa, among other venues.
